Bomb threat at CRPF School in Secunderabad

Secunderabad: A bomb threat was reported at the CRPF School in Jawahar Nagar, Secunderabad, after an email was received at 10 p.m. on Monday, October 21, 2024. In response to the threat, school officials promptly sent students home on Tuesday morning, October 22, 2024, to prioritise their safety, while local police initiated thorough inspections at the school around 11 a.m.

Senior authorities, including Rachakonda Commissioner Sudheer Babu and Kushaiyiguda ACP Mahesh, arrived on-site to evaluate the situation. A bomb squad, along with sniffer dogs, conducted a detailed search of the school premises for any potential explosives. So far, Rachakonda police have reported that no explosives have been discovered.

Police personnel remain at the location, continuing their investigations and ensuring the area’s safety.

According to a report by PTI on Tuesday, the CRPF received a hoax email claiming that improvised explosives would target three of its schools in Delhi and Telangana. This threat followed an explosion near the boundary wall of the CRPF school in Prashant Vihar, Rohini, Delhi, prompting investigative agencies to investigate the source and origin of the hoax email.
