CRCL – The Ninety to launch 90-ball community cricket league in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The Catholic Reddy Cricket League – The Ninety (CRCL – The Ninety) has announced its upcoming edition, introducing a 90-ball-per-innings cricket format aimed at delivering fast-paced, high-intensity matches. Inspired by the global 100-ball format, the league seeks to redefine community cricket with sharper strategy and continuous action.
Backed by community participation and structured sponsorship, the organisers said the tournament is designed to combine competitive cricket with professionalism, while offering local players exposure to a franchise style environment.
Sponsors and media support
The league is supported by sponsors including Faith-Wood Interiors, Design Walls, St. Joseph Schools, The Four Pillars and Not-Out Cricket. Organisers said the sponsors’ involvement reflects a shared focus on grassroots sport and youth development.
Media partners Hyderabad Mail and Telugu Post will provide coverage across platforms, highlighting matches, player performances and league developments.
Format and squad structure
CRCL – The Ninety will follow a 90-ball-per-innings format, with organisers stating that the structure rewards aggressive batting, disciplined bowling and tactical adaptability.
Each team will operate with a budget of ₹1 crore, with squads ranging from a minimum of 15 players to a maximum of 18, a model aimed at ensuring competitive balance across franchises.
Eight teams in inaugural edition
The inaugural season will feature eight teams: Bachupally Champions, Blessed Challengers, ELEV8EDGE, JOSEPHIANS, OLPH Cricket Club, The Brightville, Thunders Team and Yadhireddypally. The organisers said each side represents a mix of local talent and community identity.
Focus on players and community
Beyond competition, the league positions itself as a platform for aspiring cricketers to experience organised, professional-style cricket. According to the organisers, the objectives include encouraging young talent, promoting respectful competition, building leadership and strengthening community bonds through sport.
Vision for the league
The Catholic Reddy Cricket League said it aims to build a sustainable and professionally managed community cricket tournament that blends innovation with traditional values. The organisers hope CRCL – The Ninety will set a benchmark for local leagues in the region.
Fans can expect compact, high-energy matches, strategic squad building and a focus on emerging players, as the league prepares for its first season.
