Land Garbagging

Hyderabad: Yerram Swarnalatha Reddy, wife of YV Subha Reddy of YSRCP has filed a formal complaint with the Gachibowli police accusing the unidentified Telangana Congress Minister’s kin of land grabbing.

The complainant Swarnalatha, who is a landowner, has alleged that A. Anil Reddy and his associates have trespassed and attempted to grab her land in Kondapur. YSRCP leader’s wife stated that she purchased the land parcel from one Chintala Lakshmamma, measuring 2.08 acres in Survey No. 87/2, Serilingampally Mandal, on March 13, 2006 and since then it is in her possession.

She added that the land was being used for agriculture purposes and was subsequently given for lease to Larsen and Toubro Limited and the lease ended in 2022 and ever since the land has remained vacant.

The landowner alleged that in her absence in late December 2024, Anil Reddy and his henchmen allegedly trespassed on the land and put up a board claiming the land belongs to him by mentioning his name and contact details, said the complainant.

Swarnalatha further stated that when she and her associates confronted the accused earlier this month the accused and his henchmen threatened them and also allegedly attacked them with stones. She alleged that Anil Reddy is using his political influence and refusing to leave the land. Meanwhile, G Narasimha Reddy, a YouTuber, filed a counter complaint claiming he’s the landowner and replaced the board with Anil Reddy’s name with his own.

A subsequent complaint stated how the henchmen tried to take over the disputed land. Elaborating on this, the site supervisor Shaik Jameel said that a mob of 20 persons tried to demolish the land’s gate, boundary wall, and a room with a JCB machine on January 8, 2025. He claimed that the CCTV cameras and electrical connections were also destroyed by the henchmen and caused damages amounting to Rs. 15 lakh. The complainant has sought police intervention into the matter and appropriate action against the individuals involved in it.
