Congress Leader Lodges Complaint With Ec Against Bandi Sanjay For Hate Speech

HYDERABAD: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Election Commission Coordination Committee chairman Pulipati Rajesh Kumar has filed a complaint with Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, seeking action against Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar for allegedly making derogatory and communal remarks during a campaign speech in Rahmath Nagar, Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency.

Rajesh Kumar, in his letter dated November 9, 2025, said that during a corner meeting on November 8, Bandi Sanjay made several comments that could “create division among communities” and “incite religious hatred.”

Congress Seeks Minister’s Dismissal

The complaint urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to sack Bandi Sanjay from his ministerial post and bar him from contesting future elections. “He has been poisoning minds repeatedly and breaching the Model Code of Conduct with his speeches,” Rajesh Kumar stated.

Cites Derogatory Remarks

The TPCC leader cited portions of Bandi Sanjay’s speech, where he allegedly contrasted “Khan and Begum Nagar” with “Sita and Ram Nagar” and described the election as a “Hindu-Muslim war in Jubilee Hills.” The minister reportedly said that if the Congress wins, “community halls will turn into graveyards, Eidgahs and mosques,” and appealed to voters to “unite for a Hindu Rajya.”

Call for EC Intervention

Rajesh Kumar warned that inaction could lead to communal unrest. “If action is not taken against such leaders, there is a danger of communal riots in India,” he cautioned. He urged the Election Commission to take a “landmark decision” and uphold communal harmony by penalising repeated violations.
