Complaint against Venu Swamy for divorce prediction on Naga Chaitanya & Sobhita
Hyderabad: The Telugu Film Journalists Association and the Telugu Film Digital Media Association lodged a formal complaint with the Telangana State Women’s Commission against astrologer Venu Swamy on August 12, 2024. The complaint centers on Venu Swamy’s controversial prediction that Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala would face divorce, which he made based on an analysis of their horoscopes during their engagement.
Venu Swamy, known for his provocative social media commentary on film celebrities and politicians, recently posted a video discussing the horoscopes of Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala. This analysis reportedly occurred on their engagement day, and it was deemed inappropriate and offensive by many, including the film industry community.
Responding to the complaint, Neerella Sarada, the Telangana State Women’s Commission Chairperson, stated that action would be taken against Venu Swamy and the YouTube channel that broadcasted his remarks. Venu Swamy will be summoned to provide an explanation regarding the comments.
The complaint was supported by prominent persons from the Telugu Film Journalists Association and Telugu Film Digital Media Association, including Lakshminarayana (President), Y.J. Rambu (General Secretary), Surendra Kumar Naidu (Treasurer), Prasadam Raghu, Lakshmi, Premamalini Vanam (President, Telugu Film Digital Media Association), Vedula Murthy (Secretary), Suvarna, Tejaswini Sajja, Bhagyalakshmi, S. Kumar, and Hyderabad Press Club Vice President Vanaja.
It was reportedly known that Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala officially got engaged on August 8, 2024.
Akkineni Nagarjuna shared the news on ‘X’, writing: “We are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 a.m.!!
