Hyderabad: The land acquisition and compensation process for the northern segment of the Regional Ring Road (RRR) in Yadadri,Bhuvanagiri district, Sangareddy district, Medak district and Siddipet district has entered the payment phase. Landowners who have no structures (such as buildings, wells, bore-wells or trees) on their acquired land are receiving the first tranche of compensation.

The acquisition notification for the northern stretch of the RRR was issued in 2022 for the 59.33 km road in Yadadri,Bhuvanagiri district, which spans Turkapally, Bhuvanagiri and Choutuppal “kala” (competent authority land acquisition) zones across 24 villages for approximately 1,795 acres of land. The Collector and Revenue Divisional Officers (RDOs) have been appointed as responsible officers.

In the Turkapally zone, structure-enquiries and verification have been completed for about 510 acres. In Choutuppal zone, the process of issuing notices to affected owners is under way. Upload of data on the Revenue-Records Portal is ongoing , about 2,489 landowners (900 in Choutuppal zone and 1,589 in Turkapally zone) have already submitted their account and land/house-site details.

On Friday, compensation was credited into 49 accounts for landowners who have no structures on their acquired land in the Turkapally zone, totalling ₹ 2.03 crore. Officials say uploads for Valigonda (Choutuppal zone) landowners are in progress and they too will receive compensation shortly. Meanwhile, farmers in Bhuvanagiri “kala” zone are yet to consent to acquisition and the structure-enquiry process is incomplete. There had been concerns of alignment change due to protests, but the government says the RRR alignment remains unchanged now that compensation payments have started.
