Commuters demand permanent repair for pothole-ridden Gowlidoddi Road

Hyderabad: Commuters traveling from Gowlidoddi Road towards Q City and Wipro Circle are facing significant challenges due to the deplorable condition of the road, which is riddled with potholes. Despite numerous complaints and requests for repairs, the road remains in a state of disrepair, causing immense inconvenience to the thousands of daily users.
While speaking with the Hyderabad Mail, Koushik, a local resident, shared his concern over the pathetic road conditions. He said, “The condition of Gowlidoddi Road towards Q City and Wipro Circle is terrible. Previously, we faced issues with the narrow road, and now the problem has escalated to the road being riddled with potholes. This not only causes inconvenience but also significantly slows down vehicle movement.”
Koushik has repeatedly brought this issue to the authorities’ attention and raised it on social media platforms, including ‘X,’ formerly known as Twitter. Despite tagging various concerned authorities, his efforts have yielded no substantial results.

He further appealed to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) for a permanent solution, highlighting that temporary patchwork fixes have proven ineffective. “The temporary repairs last for only a couple of months before the potholes reappear. A permanent solution is urgently needed,” Koushik said.
In an old tweet, Koushik addressed the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), requesting, “Can you please fix this issue permanently? The patchwork is required from Gowlidoddi Road to the US Consulate on both sides.”
On August 23, 2024, in another tweet, he wrote, “Gowlidoddi road near the temple and Jayabheri meadows is riddled with potholes. The entire stretch needs to be fixed.” His tweet highlighted the urgent need for action, especially at Gowlidoddi near the temple, where the large potholes are causing traffic disruptions.
Residents of Gowlidoddi are voicing their demand for a lasting fix, expressing dissatisfaction with the recurring temporary solutions. They are eagerly awaiting a response from higher authorities to address the issue comprehensively.
