HYDERABAD: Personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Shamshabad, seized 22 high-end drones valued at ₹26.7 lakh from an international passenger arriving from Singapore.

Passenger intercepted after suspicious behaviour

According to CISF officials, the Crime and Intelligence Wing (CIW) noticed a suspicious exchange of two bags between the passenger and another individual in the arrival area. Based on profiling and behavioural indicators, the team intercepted the passenger and escorted the baggage to the city-side Random X-BIS screening point near departure gate number three.

22 DJI Mini 5 Pro drones recovered

Screening of the luggage led to the recovery of 22 DJI Mini 5 Pro drones, along with 22 remote controllers and accessories, collectively valued at about ₹26.7 lakh. The seized items were handed over to the Customs Department for further legal action as per procedure.

A CISF spokesperson said the force remains committed to curbing smuggling and ensuring the security of India’s airports.
