CISF officials checking baggage at Hyderabad airport during foreign currency seizure

HYDERABAD: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on April 22, 2026, intercepted a passenger at Hyderabad airport and seized foreign currency worth approximately ₹9.62 lakh during a security check.

The passenger, who was scheduled to depart for Dubai, was flagged by the CISF’s CIW team based on suspicious behavioural patterns and profiling.

Suspicious images detected during baggage screening

Officials escorted the passenger to the X-BIS screening point, where suspicious images were observed during baggage scanning.

A detailed examination of the hand baggage led to the recovery of foreign currency, including US dollars, UAE dirhams and Saudi riyals.

Passenger handed over to Customs for further action

The CISF handed over the passenger along with the seized currency to Customs officials for further investigation and necessary action.
