HYDERABAD: To offer residents a distinct culinary and heritage experience, the management of Chowmahalla Palace has launched a ‘Royal Dinner’ programme.

Visitors can dine with family or close associates at specially arranged royal dining tables within the palace, experiencing a curated setting that reflects royal traditions. While the palace remains crowded with regular visitors from morning to evening, the ‘Royal Dinner’ is organised after public hours.

Details of available dates are shared through Chowmahalla Palace’s social media accounts.

What the experience includes

A private guided tour is offered in the evening, allowing visitors to explore the illuminated interiors of the palace for about one hour. Night-time entry is otherwise not permitted to the general public.

A live music performance features Nizami-style compositions during the evening.

The royal dinner is served under chandeliers at formal dining tables, with a menu of Nizami cuisine. Guests can choose between vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.

Menu highlights vary across events

The menu may include dishes such as dal shorba, murgh tikka, dum biryani, dum ka murgh, khubani ka halwa, and apricot pudding. The selection varies by event.

Concept aims to boost heritage engagement

Ameer Tameem, curator of the dining experience at Chowmahalla Palace, said the idea was to let visitors enjoy Hyderabadi cuisine within a heritage setting.

“We designed the ‘Royal Dinner’ to share this experience. It also aims to bring more visibility to the palace and increase visitor footfall,” he added.
