Hyderabad: Actor Chiranjeevi thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for including him on the Advisory Board of the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES).

In a post on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), the megastar expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji for this honour. It was indeed a privilege to be part of the Advisory Board for WAVES and share my thoughts alongside other esteemed members.”

He further added, “I have no doubts that #WAVES, the brainchild of Shri Modi ji, will propel India’s ‘SOFT POWER’ to its deserving heights in the world. Brace for all the excitement and breaking new grounds very soon!”

Prime Minister Modi had earlier shared his thoughts on the WAVES Summit, saying, “Just concluded an extensive meeting of the Advisory Board of WAVES, the global summit that brings together the world of entertainment, creativity, and culture. The members of the Advisory Board are eminent individuals from different walks of life, who not only reiterated their support but also shared valuable inputs on how to further enhance our efforts to make India a global entertainment hub.”

The WAVES Summit, organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, is being held from February 5 to 9, 2025. It aims to celebrate and amplify India’s creative and media economy. The summit is also launching the Create in India Challenge, Season 1, which will feature challenges designed to foster innovation and creativity.

Prime Minister Modi chaired a virtual meeting with top professionals and industry leaders from India and around the world, who are part of the Advisory Board for the WAVES Summit. Among those who participated in the discussions were actors Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Chiranjeevi, Shah Rukh Khan, Diljit Dosanjh, Akshay Kumar, and Anupam Kher, as well as music composer AR Rahman.

Business leaders including Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, and Mahindra & Mahindra Chairperson Anand Mahindra also took part in the meeting.

The WAVES Summit brings together global leaders and innovators to discuss and shape the future of India’s entertainment and media landscape.
