Megastar Chiranjeevi donates Rs. 1 crore for flood relief
Hyderabad: In response to the severe flooding in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Tollywood celebrities are making significant donations to help the flood relief victims and contributing to the Chief Ministers’ relief funds of both states.
Megastar Chiranjeevi Konidela has announced a donation of Rs. 1 crore for flood relief efforts. In a statement on ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter), Chiranjeevi expressed his distress over the hardships faced by the affected communities and the tragic loss of innocent lives. He said, “I am disturbed by the hardships faced by the people due to the impact of floods in the Telugu states. The loss of tens of thousands of innocent lives is very sad. Under the direction of the Chief Ministers of Telugu states, both governments are working to improve the situation to the best of their ability.”

Chiranjeevi further added, “All of us need to be involved in relief efforts in some way or another. As part of this process, I am donating Rs. 1 crore (₹50 lakh each to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) to support the relief of the people in both states. I pray to God that these calamities will be resolved at the earliest and that all the people will be safe.”
In addition, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has also pledged Rs. 1 crore for the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Pawan Kalyan stated, “I am donating Rs. 1 crore for the CM Relief Fund. I am closely monitoring the situation and have refrained from visiting the affected areas to avoid impeding the relief operations. I am reviewing the situation with the concerned officials.”
Actor Mahesh Babu has announced a donation of Rs. 50 lakh each to the relief funds of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Mahesh Babu took to ‘X’ to share his pledge, saying, “In light of the floods impacting both Telugu states, I am pledging a donation of Rs. 50 lakh each to the CM Relief Fund for both AP and Telangana. Let’s collectively support the measures the respective governments undertake to provide immediate aid and facilitate the recovery process for the flood-affected regions. I urge everyone to contribute to this cause. May we rise above this crisis and emerge stronger.”
Jr NTR was the first celebrity to announce a donation of Rs. 50 lakhs to each of the Chief Minister’s Relief Funds in both states. Actor and screenwriter Siddhu Jonnalagadda has joined Jr NTR in donating Rs. 15 lakhs each to the relief funds of both states.
Actor Vishwak Sen has also contributed to the relief efforts, donating Rs. 5 lakhs each to the Chief Minister’s Relief Funds of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Director Trivikram and producer S. Sudhakar have jointly announced a donation of Rs.50 lakhs to support the flood relief initiatives. Additionally, Radhakrishna (Chinnababu) and S. Nagavamsi have donated Rs. 25 lakhs each to Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
The Telugu states are currently facing severe flooding caused by incessant rains following a depression in the Bay of Bengal. The torrential downpours have led to overflowing water bodies, severely disrupting normal life and causing significant damage, particularly in Khammam (Telangana) and Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh).
