Hyderabad software engineer drowns at Chintur’s Sokileru View Point
Hyderabad : A software engineer from Vijayawada drowned after six friends working in Hyderabad entered a stream for a bath at Sokileru View Point in Chintur mandal of Polavaram district.
The six friends, all software engineers working in Hyderabad, had gone on a tour. They travelled from Hyderabad to Vijayawada and then to Rajahmundry and Annavaram, where they visited the temple before proceeding to Visakhapatnam. They later visited Araku and Vanjangi before reaching Maredumilli.
Friends visit Sokileru View Point after Maredumilli trip
From Maredumilli, the group travelled to Sokileru View Point, about 5 km from Tulasipaka village in Chintur mandal. They entered the stream to take a bath when the water flow suddenly increased.
All six were swept away by the current. Forest department and police officials, alerted immediately, launched a rescue operation with the help of local residents and brought five of them to safety.
Nilesh’s body recovered on Tuesday evening
Kosturi Nilesh, 26, from Vijayawada, was swept away in the floodwater. His body was recovered on Tuesday evening.
Officials said Nilesh was working as a software employee in Hyderabad.
