Chandrayangutta MLA criticizes BRS disruption in Telangana Assembly

Hyderabad: AIMIM leader and Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi criticized BRS members for disrupting the Telangana Assembly proceedings, calling it a “sad day” for the Telangana legislative assembly history.
Speaking in the assembly, Owaisi urged BRS legislators to return to their seats and allow the house to function. After continued disruptions, he requested the suspension of BRS members.
Owaisi questioned the BRS members’ behavior, “Is this the teaching of KCR? We all together fought against the injustice done to Telangana regions. All of us together succeeded in the formation of Telangana.”
The AIMIM leader said that while agitation is an individual’s right, elected representatives’ primary duty is to address people’s problems. He said, “We are sent by the people to represent them and resolve their problems. This sends a message that family is superior than people, state, and house.”
Owaisi drew attention to what he described as numerous illegalities and irregularities, blaming one family. He emphasized the need for proper legislative discussion.
Dharani has many shortcomings: Owaisi
Owaisi raised concerns about the Dharani land management system, claiming it caused significant state losses. “The state has lost thousands of crores because of Dharani. Assigned lands and forest lands have been lost,” he said.
He mentioned that his party proposed amendments to the Bhu Bharata Bill for discussion. Owaisi said, “the Dharani system had shortcomings that benefited one family and facilitated government land acquisition.”
The AIMIM leader expressed frustration that BRS’s disruption prevented representatives from discussing important issues. “We come here to represent the people. BRS is not allowing us to do that by disturbing the house proceedings,” he said.
