Chanda Nagar citizens demand action against traffic, market chaos on Sridevi Talkies Road
Hyderabad: Residents of Chanda Nagar are expressing mounting frustration over recurring traffic jams on the Sridevi Talkies Road to Ameenpur Road stretch, especially near Bandam Kommu. The area has become a daily bottleneck, causing significant delays for motorists and disrupting commutes.
Poor road conditions, marked by potholes and uneven surfaces, create obstacles for smooth traffic flow. The absence of proper road dividers further compounds the problem, as vehicles navigate erratically between lanes. Additionally, the lack of road widening restricts capacity, leading to bottlenecks during peak hours.
The situation is further aggravated by the presence of a Monday market in the vicinity. The market adds to the existing congestion, creating a chaotic environment for commuters. Residents are urging officials from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to take swift action to address these issues.
While speaking with Hyderabad Mail, Rama Krishna Yadav, a resident of Ameenpur said, “This stretch of road, from Chanda Nagar’s Sridevi Talkies Road to Ameenpur Road, falls under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits. The problem arises due to the market held on Mondays and/or Tuesdays, which spills over onto the main road. Vendors occupy the road space, causing congestion and traffic jams. We urge the police to intervene and clear the road to ensure the free movement of vehicles.”

Replying to Prasad’s post, RK Yadav said, “Sridevi Talkies Road, Chanda Nagar, Monday or Tuesday market is almost making the road very congested, causing traffic jams. Please look into this, @ZC_SLP. Please arrange a market place not on the road. People are already suffering due to bad roads.”
