Cbi Registers Bribery Case Against Chief Commercial Inspector At Secunderabad Railway Station

Hyderabad: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against the Chief Commercial Inspector of Secunderabad Railway Station, Secunderabad Division, South Central Railway (SCR), Telangana, on allegations of demanding bribes from a contractor.

According to the complaint, the accused demanded illegal gratification in the form of weekly payments of ₹10,000. He allegedly used his official position to threaten contractors, including the complainant, by misusing his authority to write negative reports, recommend premature termination of contracts, and impose exorbitant penalties if the contractor or supervisor refused to pay the bribe.

The complainant, a parking contractor, reported that he had been incurring losses due to these ongoing bribe demands. When he refused to pay, the accused allegedly threatened him with severe consequences, including the imposition of excessive penalties that could lead to termination of his contract, and also warned he could be falsely implicated in a criminal case at the Railway Protection Force (RPF) or Government Railway Police (GRP) station.

CBI officials conducted searches at two premises associated with the accused in Hyderabad, which led to the recovery of incriminating documents. The investigation is ongoing.
