CBI nabs MIDHANI official in bribery case in Kanchanbagh
Hyderabad:Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) nabbed Additional General Manager, MIDHANI while allgedly accepting a bribe on Tuesday.
Based on the complaint from N Sreenivasa Reddy, Managing Director, M/s Precision Fumigation Services, Mehdipatnam, Hyderabad CBI booked a case. CBI identified the accused as T Janaki Rao, Additional General Manager, Mishra Dhatu Nigam Ltd (MIDHANI), Hyderabad.
It is to be noted that Precision Fumigation Services, Mehdipatnam, Hyderabad are providing General pest Control Treatments and Fumigation treatments for different clients, both private firms and government departments.
According to the complainant, the tainted official demanded a bribe of Rs 35,000 from the complainant to forward his monthly bill of Rs 1.39 lakhs which is 25 percent of the total bill amount for the work of General Pest Control and Fumigations Treatment carried in MIDHANI. Further the accused reportedly threatened to terminate the contract/extension, if the demanded amount is not paid.
CBI laid a trap and red handedly caught the accused
When the complainant submitted the bills for the months of February and March, the tainted officer T Janki Rao insisted on payment of a bribe of Rs 70,000 for forwarding the bills to account section for processing and the complainant paid the amount. Further the complainant copy states that although he was unwilling to pay the bribe but he had to oblige to the illegal demands of T Janki Rao. Subsequently he approached the CBI requesting to take appropriate legal action.
CBI opened a case against Additional General Manager, Mishra Dhatu Nigam Ltd (MIDHANI), Hyderabad on allegations that the accused demanded a bribe.Further CBI had laid a trap and had caught the accused red handed while accepting the bribe of Rs.35,000 from the complainant on Tuesday.
Further searches are being conducted at residential premises of the accused at Hyderabad.
