Suryapet: Popular Telugu YouTuber Sunny Yadav, aka Bayya Sunny Yadav aka Bayya Sandeep, landed in trouble for allegedly promoting online betting apps through his social media accounts.

A case has been filed against the YouTuber by M Manoj Kumar, police constable, at the Noothankal police station on March 5, 2025. Based on a complaint, the Noothankal police have registered a case against the social media influencer.

The complainant stated that he watched a video posted by the YouTuber on his social media account on Instagram where he allegedly promoted online betting apps, claiming that users could earn large sums of money with less investment. Kumar has requested legal action against the social media influencer.

“Since few years he is leading as you tuber as a Bike ride and making videos and posted the same in his social media platforms and creating the subscribers and earning the money.. even though he didn’t satisfied with his earnings, in this regard he was hatched a plan to earn much money,” according to FIR.

In his complaint, Kumar further stated that Sunny Yadav was promoting betting apps and misleading the youth and thus causing financial losses and potentially leading to suicidal tendencies.

Earlier, senior IPS officer VC Sajjanar had raised the voice against the promotion of online betting apps by the YouTuber. Following the registration of case, Sajjanar tweeted that social media users should avoid prioritising money over ethics.

“It’s not right to risk innocent lives for financial gain. You will be punished according to the law,” he wrote.

VC Sajjanar has been raising awareness about the harmful impact of online betting apps through his social media accounts. He says that innocent people are falling victim to the ‘online betting epidemic’ due to videos shared by influencers claiming that users can become millionaires overnight. He also advised the youth against getting deceived by the promotions of social media influencers.
