Hyderabad: A car caused a major disruption at NTR Ghat in Hyderabad early on Monday, March 3, 2025, when it lost control at high speed and went onto the footpath. Fortunately, no pedestrians were around, avoiding a major accident. The car hit the road median before jumping onto the pavement.

The car, which was being driven recklessly, lost control while heading from Secretariat to Prasad’s IMAX. It hit an electric pole and damaged two trees before stopping. The Saifabad police are investigating if the driver was drunk, and they are checking CCTV footage from nearby areas. A case has been filed for rash driving.

Accidents in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy

Two tech professionals, including a woman, were seriously injured in a car accident near Movie Towers in Kokapet, Narsingi, on February 19, 2025. The car they were in collided with a stationary truck while the victims were returning from a party. Both passengers sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the hospital. Police suspect alcohol may have been a factor, as the passengers showed signs of intoxication hours after the incident. The Narsingi police have registered a case.

In a separate incident on the same day, two students were injured in a crash near CBIT in Gandipet, Narsingi. Their car collided with an advertising pillar while traveling from Narsingi to Shankarpally. Witnesses believe overspeeding contributed to the accident, which left the front of the vehicle severely damaged. The students, who sustained life-threatening injuries, were promptly transported to a hospital by local residents.

A tragic fatality occurred late Tuesday night at Malakpet when 24-year-old Mahesh Kumar, a vegetable vendor from Saidabad, lost control of his scooter and crashed into an electric pole. Mahesh had been on his way to meet friends after celebrating his birthday with family. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he was declared dead upon arrival. Police suspect excessive speed as a contributing factor.

In another deadly crash, 19-year-old Satwik lost his life in Ranga Reddy after his motorcycle collided with a divider on the Kokapet Service Road on December 28, 2024. His companion was seriously injured. Overspeeding is believed to have caused the crash.

The previous day, on December 27, two men, Raghu Babu and Akansh, died in a similar incident near Madhapur. They were traveling at high speed when their motorcycle skidded off the road and crashed into a divider. Alcohol consumption is suspected to have played a role in the accident. One of the men died at the scene, while the other succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital.
