CAF&CS enforcement wing seizes 100 domestic LPG cylinders in raids across Telangana
HYDERABAD: The enforcement wing of the Consumer Affairs, Food and Civil Supplies (CAF&CS) department has intensified action against the illegal commercial diversion and pilferage of domestic Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders.
Officials conducted coordinated raids on March 9, 2026, in Hanmakonda, Warangal and Karmanghat. During the operations, they seized 22 domestic cylinders, 25 small cylinders and multiple gas refilling units from several proprietors.
The seized property was valued at ₹64,468, officials said.
Major interception in Ibrahimpatnam
The crackdown follows an earlier interception on February 14, 2026, in Bonguluru village of Ibrahimpatnam. Enforcement officials apprehended an offender and seized 78 domestic LPG cylinders along with a transport vehicle.
Authorities estimated the value of the seized material at ₹1,71,600.
Cases filed against offenders
With the latest raids, the enforcement wing has recovered a total of 100 domestic LPG cylinders and 25 small cylinders. The combined value of seized property stands at ₹2,36,068.
Officials have filed 6-A reports before the Collector (Civil Supplies) and registered First Information Reports (FIRs) against the offenders. Some FIRs are under process, the department said.
The department also urged consumers not to indulge in overbooking of LPG cylinders. Citizens can report illegal commercial use, diversion of domestic cylinders or other civil supplies issues through the toll-free helpline 1967.
