Pothole-ridden roads trouble motorists in Budvel, Rajendranagar

RAJENDRANAGAR: Roads in Budvel have deteriorated badly, causing severe inconvenience to motorists and residents. Officials of the Rajendranagar Circle Engineering Department have reportedly failed to take up even basic patchwork repairs.
Locals complain of back pain, vehicle damage on bad stretches
For several months now, commuters have been travelling on pothole-filled roads, leading to back pain and vehicle damage. The stretch from Apollo Pharmacy to the Sri Shivanjaneya Swamy Temple via Sai Krishna Colony, and from Budvel Vikas School to Bodrai through Kusum Haranath Baba Mandir towards Bhagwatiguda, is completely damaged.
Several internal roads in New Green City have also become cratered. Heavy vehicles plying through the area are worsening the condition further. Locals have urged the authorities to repair the roads immediately, saying that their repeated requests have gone unheeded.
Residents said officials have ignored their pleas despite daily difficulties faced by vehicle users. They demanded urgent road repairs to prevent accidents and further damage.
Locals seek double road, lighting
Residents have also requested the development of the road from the Indira Gandhi statue at Bansilalnagar junction to Kistamma Gutta into a double road with a central lighting system. They pointed out that hundreds of vehicles use this stretch every day and that the improvement would ease congestion and ensure safer travel.
