Kcr Set To Address Massive Gathering For Brs’s 25th Anniversary In Warangal

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader T. Harish Rao on Friday, April 26, 2025, flagged off pink cars from Patancheru as part of the party’s “Chalo Warangal” campaign, ahead of its silver jubilee meeting scheduled for April 27 at Elkathurthy, near Warangal.

BRS MLC K. Kavitha also unveiled a sand sculpture of her father and party president K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) on Puri beach in Odisha. The sculpture, featuring the slogan “Chalo Warangal,” was created to mark the occasion.

Founded in April 2001 with the aim of achieving a separate Telangana state, the BRS played a central role in the statehood movement that culminated in the formation of Telangana in 2014. After nearly a decade in office, the party lost the Assembly elections 17 months ago by a margin of 2.05 percent. Since then, it has taken on the role of opposition, raising issues related to governance and public welfare.

To mark its 25th anniversary, the BRS is organising a large public meeting at Elkathurthy in Hanumakonda district. The event will take place on 1,213 acres of land donated by local farmers. Party chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao is scheduled to address the gathering. The main stage covers 154 acres and includes seating for 500 people. A separate stage has been set up for cultural performances.

Preparations are underway to handle a large turnout. Roads to the venue have been cleared and leveled. Around 1,059 acres have been allotted for parking, with separate zones for VIP vehicles. Over one lakh chairs have been arranged, with enclosures and barricades designated for women.

Six ambulances and 12 medical camps are in place, along with 1,200 temporary toilets. Around 2,000 volunteers have been deployed to assist with parking and crowd management.
