RS Praveen Kumar demands action in Bandi Sai Bhageerath POCSO case

Brs General Secretary Dr. R.s. Praveen Kumar

HYDERABAD: BRS General Secretary Dr. R.S. Praveen Kumar criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for alleged negligence in the POCSO case involving Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s son. He welcomed the High Court’s verdict in support of the minor girl’s rights.

At a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, Dr. Praveen Kumar said the High Court has shown that everyone is equal before the law, regardless of status. “We welcome the High Court’s verdict upholding the minor girl’s rights,” Dr. Praveen Kumar said. “The High Court has shown that everyone is equal before the law, even if the accused is powerful. The truth will come out in the coming days.”

Following this, the BRS leader accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of neglecting the minor girl’s case from the start.

Expanding on his criticism, Dr. Praveen Kumar said, “Revanth Reddy has lied. Bandi Sanjay must have told the Chief Minister about the Bandi Sai Bhageerath case. The Chief Minister must tell the public what instructions he gave the DGP after being informed by Bandi Sanjay.” Furthermore, he alleged that Revanth Reddy’s interactions with the accused hurt his moral authority to remain Chief Minister.

Dr. Praveen Kumar claimed that Pet Basheerabad police refused to accept the minor girl’s mother’s complaint, even after she waited from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. He also said the same police did not join the Prime Minister’s security detail. He went on to say the police act only after assessing the Chief Minister’s intentions. He urged officers, “Do not commit wrongful acts, do not follow unlawful orders.”

Continuing his remarks, the BRS General Secretary questioned why Bandi Sai Bhageerath has not been arrested or found after nine days. Meanwhile, police have arrested BRS leaders and journalists, and allegedly filed false cases to protect the accused.

He further alleged that only Revanth Reddy and Bandi Sanjay know Bandi Sai Bhageerath’s current location, saying, “Only Revanth Reddy and Bandi Sanjay know the truth.”

Shifting focus, Dr. Praveen Kumar accused the Chief Minister of misusing public funds. He claimed, “Revanth Reddy used 17 crore 7 lakh rupees of public money just to file cases against KCR, KTR, and Harish Rao, and try to imprison them. He paid fees to his own Rajya Sabha member and Supreme Court lawyer, Abhishek Manu Singhvi.”

He also asked why Revanth Reddy did not appoint a senior counsel to help the Public Prosecutor, noting that the minor girl’s family had to hire their own lawyer. Additionally, the BRS leader questioned why the Minister for Women and Child Welfare was absent. He asked, “Who will support the minor girl? Where has Seethakka gone? Why is Seethakka silent?”

Referring to the Chief Minister’s reported statements, Dr. Praveen Kumar continued, “CM Revanth Reddy claims, ‘I hold the Lotus in my hand.’ He says people in Telangana must protect their own wealth, honor, and lives. Revanth Reddy has become a helpless Chief Minister and Home Minister. He is pleading with Bandi Sanjay to surrender his son. Why is he not concerned for the minor girl’s family?”

Moreover, the BRS leader emphasized that non-bailable sections, not bailable ones, were filed at the Karimnagar Two Town Police Station. Cases were registered under Sections 11 and 12 of the POCSO Act. He also expressed concern that police have not recorded the minor girl’s statement.

“If the government is truly determined, Bandi Sai Bhageerath can be caught, no matter where he is,” Dr. Praveen Kumar concluded.
