Hyderabad: BRS issues notice to Rohith Reddy

HYDERABAD : The Bharat Rashtra Samithi has issued a show-cause notice to former MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy over allegations linked to drug use at a meeting held in Hyderabad’s outskirts.
Allegations trigger party action
According to media reports and other information, Rohith Reddy attended a gathering where drugs were allegedly consumed. The party leadership said the issue has drawn attention due to widespread media coverage and has affected the party’s reputation.
Party cites code and legal standards
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi stated it is committed to legal norms and ethical standards. It said it strongly opposes illegal activities, including drug use or any association with such acts.
The party said the allegations regarding his presence and possible involvement in the incident were serious and could damage its image.
Seven-day deadline for response
Acting on directions from party president K. Chandrashekhar Rao, the notice asks Rohith Reddy to submit a clear written explanation within seven days of receiving it.
Until a final decision is taken, he has been directed not to participate in party programmes or official activities.
The notice states that failure to provide a satisfactory explanation within the deadline will lead to disciplinary action under the party constitution, without further notice.
