Hyderabad: Following a raid on the farmhouse in Moinabad, Rangareddy district for allegedly running an illegal casino and cockfighting racket, the Telangana police issued a notice to the BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) MLC Pochampally Srinivas Reddy on Thursday.

The notice has been issued under Section 35(1) of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS) by the Moinabad Police Station, Cyberabad. Based on a complaint from SI Nayeemuddin, a case has already been registered under the Telangana Gaming Act, and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

During an investigation, it was found that the land where the cockfight and betting activities were conducted, allegedly belongs to MLC Srinivas Reddy.

The BRS leader has been asked to explain his connection to the property and provide any relevant documents or evidence by Monday, February 17, 2025. The notice states that in the absence of a suitable explanation, the authorities will take action based on the available evidence.

After receiving a tip-off, Special Operations Team (SOT) along with Rajendranagar and Moinabad police conducted a raid on the farmhouse near Tolkatta village in early hours of Tuesday and busted an illegal casino and cockfighting racketm resulting in the arrest of 61 individuals.

The authorities also seized over Rs 30 lakh in cash, 55 luxury cars, 86 roosters used in cockfights, and 46 cockfight knives. They also confiscated poker chips and other gambling materials from the farmhouse.
