Brain Dead House Surgeon Bhoomika Saves Five Lives Through Organ Donation

Hyderabad: Doctors fight to save their patients’ lives while they are alive while this female house surgeon, Dr Nangi Bhoomika, saved not just one but four lives even in her death.

A tragic road accident at Narsingi on February 01, 2025 killed Bhoomika’s colleague 24-year-old Dr V Jayanth and left her brain dead. Both of them were working at Kamineni Hospitals in Hyderabad. The accident occurred while they were returning home from a wedding in Janwada. Dr Jayanth was behind the whiles at the time of accident.

According to the reports, the accident occurred when the car, reportedly speeding, struck a divider and lost control near Khanapur. The car crashed into a pole on the road and Dr Jayanth died on the spot while Bhoomika sustained severe injuries and was shifted to a Kamineni Hospital for treatment.

As Bhoomika was critically injured, the doctors put her on a ventilator. The doctors attending on Bhoomika declared her brain-dead on Saturday as they did not see any improvement in her medical condition.

With no hope of survival, her father Nanda Kumar Reddy donated her organs – Heart, Lungs, Liver and Kidneys to state-run Jeevandan organ donation and these organs helped the doctors save the lives of four patients who needed organ transplantation. Jeevandan Telangana thanked Bhoomika’s family for donating her organs to needy patients.

“Jeevandan Telangana extends its profound gratitude to Bhoomika’s family, whose noble decision has saved lives and inspiration. The Jeevandan Programme remains dedicated to raising awareness and facilitating organ donation in Telangana,” a press release from Jeevandan Telangana read.
