Hayathnagar: A seven-year-old boy tragically died after an iron gate fell on him at MPP School in Hayathnagar on Monday, November 5, 2024.

The deceased has been identified as Ajay, a Class-I student studying at MPP School in Hayathnagar.

According to the Hayathnagar police, the incident occurred around 4 p.m. on November 4, 2024, when Ajay was playing near the school’s iron gate. At that time, some other children reportedly climbed the gate and began swinging it back and forth. Due to weak welding joints, the gate fell on Ajay, causing a severe head injury.

Upon learning of the accident, the Hayathnagar police quickly responded and arrived at the scene. The school management, however, initially transferred Ajay in an auto to two private hospitals for treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later moved to a government hospital in Vanasthalipuram, where doctors declared him dead. His body has since been transferred to the Osmania Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.

A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway by the police.

Ajay’s father expressed his distress, saying, “I was informed about the incident at 5 p.m. They sent my son in an auto, not even in an ambulance. Two boys were trapped under the gate, but one of them is fine. I have also filed a complaint with the police regarding this act of negligence.”
