Nikhat Zareen joins Telangana police as DSP

Hyderabad: Nikhat Zareen, a renowned boxer, reported for duty as Deputy Superintendent of Police (Special Police) on Wednesday. She handed over her joining report to the Director General of Police, Dr. Jitender.

Hailing from Nizamabad district, Nikhat Zareen has been a two-time world boxing champion and has also won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games and a bronze medal at the Asian Games. She recently participated in the Olympics held in Paris.

Nikhat Zareen, World Boxing Champion, Turkey, June-2022 submitted representation to the Government for appointing her to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police in Telangana Police Department, under Sports Quota.

Government issued orders earlier

The Council of Ministers, Telangana in its resolution agreed for appointing Nikhat Zareen, Boxing Player, Telangana, as she got prestigious International and National Boxing Medals and best Boxer awards by creating the Supernumerary post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (Spl. Police).

The state government issued orders appointing Nikhat Zareen as a DSP (Special Police). Following this, she submitted her joining report to the DGP.

Meanwhile Mahesh M Bhagwat IPS, Additional DGP (Law and order in charge Personnel) congratulated Nikhat Zareen.
