Hyderabad: The body of an unidentified woman was discovered floating in a lake at Dammaiguda in Jawaharnagar on the morning of January 3, 2025.

According to local reports, residents spotted the body and immediately alerted the police. Upon receiving the information, the Jawaharnagar police arrived at the scene and retrieved the body from the lake with the assistance of swimmers.

Authorities are working to identify the woman and are investigating whether her death was a result of suicide, foul play, or accidental drowning. The body has been sent to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary for an autopsy, and further investigations are ongoing.

In another incident on December 12, 2024, a 29-year-old software engineer tragically passed away after consuming poison. This incident occurred at her rented residence in Gokul Plots, Miyapur.

The deceased, identified as M. Venkata Naga Laxmi, was from Chatrai Village in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh. She had been married to Manoj Manikanta, a construction contractor from the same village, for approximately five months.

Reports indicate that the couple had been experiencing marital discord, frequently arguing over minor issues. Following another heated argument with her husband on Wednesday, Venkata Naga Laxmi consumed the poison that she had ordered from an e-commerce app on November 26. Her landlord discovered her condition and alerted her family; she was rushed to a private hospital in KPHB but unfortunately died from poisoning the following day.

Her family has alleged that her husband’s harassment may have contributed to her death. Based on this complaint, the Miyapur police have initiated a case and are actively investigating the matter. The body has also been sent to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
