BJP releases a chargesheet Congress

Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released a comprehensive charge sheet against the Congress government in Telangana, highlighting alleged failures and unfulfilled promises during its first year in power, on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister and Telangana state BJP president G Kishan Reddy said, “Congress government has not fulfilled any of the 66 promises made during the election campaign. The government, which distributed pamphlets with Sonia Gandhi’s signature promising six guarantees to be completed in 100 days, has reportedly failed to deliver on these commitments.”

Reddy claims the government has continued practices similar to the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) regime, with allegations of suppressing dissent through illegal arrests, lathicharges, and detentions. The party cites issues like land acquisition, with farmers’ lands reportedly seized and poor residents’ houses demolished under projects like Musi Rejuvenation and Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency( HYDRAA) activities.

Financial management has been a significant point of criticism. The BJP highlights that in July, the state reportedly took a loan of Rs 10,392 crore against an income of Rs 10,228 crore. Additionally, Secunderabad MP Kishan Reddy said the government borrowed Rs 46,118 crore from the RBI in nine months without initiating new projects.

The party raises concerns about healthcare, Food poison cases in state run educational institutions, local governance and several others. Arogyashri does remain unpaid, causing difficulties for patients in private hospitals. Sarpanches are protesting pending bill payments.

Kishan Reddy alleges Congress-BRS collusion, cites land and financial irregularities

Further, Reddy added that despite campaign promises to investigate land irregularities and corruption in the previous BRS government, no action has been taken. The party alleges potential collusion between Congress and BRS.

Specific allegations include continuing land acquisition for Pharmacity and Future City projects, despite promises to return lands to farmers and abolish the project per High Court orders. Reddy said the party’s intention was to release this ‘chargesheet’ to make people aware of the government’s failures and support those suffering under what it describes as an undemocratic and fraudulent rule.
