Hyderabad’s BJP MLA Raja Singh files police complaint alleging threat to life
Hyderabad: BJP’s Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh on Sunday filed a police complaint claiming he received death threats over the phone.
In his complaint, the legislator said he received threats from two different unknown phone numbers. The callers issued a death threat to him in Urdu language and sooner or later they will kill him and neither PM Narendra Modi nor Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath can save him.
Giving details, Raja Singh said he received the first phone call at 3.30 pm and the second call at 3.54 pm. He also said that the callers spoke to him in a threatening tone.
“The unidentified callers said nobody can save me from them and added they will kill me anytime,” said the BJP MLA.
Last June, Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police arrested a 40-year-old Mohammed Waseem of Chandrayangutta, who allegedly threatened the BJP leader over the phone from Dubai. He was arrested after he landed at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad.
The accused had made threatening calls to Raja Singh after he made disrespectful remarks in 2023. Subsequently, Singh approached the cybercrime police and filed a complaint against the caller. The police took up the investigation and tracked the phone numbers associated with these threats and identified the resident of Chandrayangutta as the caller.
It is pertinent to note that given the threat level to the BJP legislator, the Telangana government provided a bullet-proof SUV and 2+2 security cover to him as he had received similar threat calls in the past too.
