Hyderabad: BJP candidate and Delhi Public School Nacharam owner Malka Komaraiah has secured victory in the Medak-Nizamabad-Karimnagar-Adilabad Teachers’ Member of Legislative Council (MLC) election on Monday.

After the completion of counting of votes, it was clear Komaraiah won the winning quota with a comfortable margin.

A total of 25,041 votes were polled in the election, out of which 24,144 were deemed valid, while 897 votes were declared invalid. The winning quota was set at 12,073 votes.

With 12,959 votes, Komaraiah comfortably crossed the winning threshold and secured the MLC seat for BJP. This win marks an important achievement for the party as it managed to win one of the three MLC seats in the recently held elections.

Malka Komaraiah (BJP) – 12,959 votes (Winner)
Vanga Mahender Reddy (PRTU) – 7,182 votes
Ashok Kumar – 2,621 votes
Sitting MLC Kura Raghotham Reddy – 428 votes

Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam MLC seat

PRTU candidate Pingili Sripal Reddy emerged victorious in the Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam MLC elections, defeating sitting MLC Alugubelli Narsi Reddy of the United Teachers Federation (UTF).

In the fiercely contested Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda teachers’ constituency, a total of 23,641 votes were polled, with the winning quota set at 11,821 votes. The election was decided through the elimination method. Sripal Reddy secured victory after 18 rounds. He secured 13,969 votes, surpassing the required quota. His closest rival, Narsi Reddy of UTF, fell short in the final tally.

The elimination of BJP candidate Puli Sarotham Reddy in the 15th round underscored the party’s continued struggle in South Telangana. Meanwhile, Poola Ravinder, backed by MLC Teenmaar Mallanna, was eliminated in the 16th round.
