Bigg Boss Telugu 10 welcomes 16 contestants
HYDERABAD: Bigg Boss Telugu 10 opened its doors to 16 contestants during the grand launch on Sunday, with actress Debjani Modak entering the house first, followed by actor Thrigun, singer Jhansi and others.
Debjani enters first, says she wants to make friends
Debjani Modak became the first contestant to enter the Bigg Boss Telugu 10 house. Speaking on stage, she said, “I am very happy to enter as the first contestant. If I have to describe myself in three words, they would be fun-loving, honest and a daydreamer.”
She said she preferred staying at home and liked returning home at night after work. “I will make friends with the people who enter this season. Even if they see me as an enemy, they will understand me later,” she said.
Host Nagarjuna then gave Debjani a task in which she had to assign badges to contestants based on their behaviour after entering the house.
Actor Thrigun, known to Telugu audiences for films including PSV Garuda Vega and Dear Megha, entered as the second contestant. He said he wanted to be “one among everyone”.
Nagarjuna gave him a task of frightening at least four housemates by convincing them that there was a ghost in the house before he returned the following Saturday.
Jhansi gets direct entry after Agnipariksha
Singer Jhansi entered as the third contestant. Contestants for Agnipariksha Season 2 were selected through a combination of audience votes and the jury’s decision, but Jhansi secured a golden ticket and earned direct entry into Bigg Boss Telugu 10.
“I started singing when I was in Class 3. However, I did not get opportunities. I came here because Bigg Boss is the right platform to prove myself and make people know me,” she said.
“I unexpectedly won the golden ticket. I will motivate myself and move forward in any situation. In this house too, I will face celebrities and commoners alike,” she added.
Sudheer Kumar Reddy, known to YouTube audiences through Sudheer Talks, entered as the fourth contestant. He spoke about the difficulties he faced before becoming a YouTuber and said he had moved ahead in life by believing only in his work.
“I went to Singapore for a job, but a friend cheated me. I had only 100 dollars in my hand and did not know what to do. I survived by doing housekeeping and part-time jobs. There were days when I had no money and went to a gurdwara for food,” he said.
“At the same time, I met a person who offered me a job at his digital marketing company. I came this far because of the trust I placed in that opportunity. I will play the game here with the same courage,” he added.
Aman Masud entered as the fifth contestant after securing the highest number of audience votes in Bigg Boss’ Agnipariksha. He said he would remain honest in the game.
Nagarjuna gave Aman two tasks. He handed him a torn T-shirt and asked him to count the holes in it. He also gave him a red dot and asked him to put it on one of the next three contestants without being caught.
Nagarjuna told him that if the contestant discovered that Aman had put the dot on them, Aman would lose an opportunity. If they failed to identify him, they would lose an opportunity.
Chaitra, Ram Prasad join the celebrity line-up
Serial actor Chaithra Rai entered Bigg Boss Telugu 10 as the sixth contestant. Sharing her acting journey, she said she had taken a comment about her weight seriously and reduced her weight from 80kg to 60kg in three months.
She described Bigg Boss as a major platform and said the show marked her “second innings”. Chaithra said she connected with people quickly, adding that the same quality was also her weakness.
Jabardasth comedian Auto Ram Prasad entered as the seventh contestant. He has entertained television audiences with his comedy alongside comedians Srinivas and Sudheer. He now joins Bigg Boss Telugu 10 to entertain its viewers.
Shalini, who reached the final of Agnipariksha, entered the house as another contestant. She said she would play the game strategically and that viewers would see that she talks a lot inside the house.
Actor Temper Vamsi, who has appeared in negative roles in films, entered as another contestant. Sharing his film journey, he said he had come to Hyderabad from Narasaraopet after saying he would pursue a course at Maitrivanam.
Director Puri Jagannadh gave him his first opportunity, he said, adding that he accepted every opportunity that came his way and went on to play several negative roles.
“The role I played in Temper reached many people. From then on, people in the industry started calling me ‘Temper’ Vamsi,” he said.
“They have seen me as a villain and in serious roles so far. I have a family and many emotions. I want to reach every household,” he added.
Srishti, another contestant who entered through Agnipariksha, said her mental strength was her biggest asset and that she could easily mingle with others.
Naresh, Charan and Krishnudu enter house
Jabardasth comedian Naresh also entered Bigg Boss Telugu 10. He said people already knew him as a comedian but wanted his name to be associated with “Bigg Boss Season 10 Naresh” when they searched for him on Google.
He said he would play to the best of his ability and wanted viewers to feel that he had “almost won” the game. Referring to comedians who had appeared in previous seasons, he joked that if all of them were put into a mixer, the person who emerged would be Naresh.
Another Agnipariksha contestant, Charan, entered the house. He said his personality was his strength and that he always tried to make people around him laugh.
Actor Krishnudu also entered the house. He said a road accident left him overweight at a time when he was focused entirely on films.
He later found success with Vinayakudu, he said. Audiences had so far seen him in roles such as Vinayakudu and innocent characters, but he wanted viewers to see another side of him in Bigg Boss.
He said he would show other emotions along with fun. When Nagarjuna offered him sweets, Krishnudu said he would take them only after playing and winning them in the house.
Varshini, Rohit and Mukesh complete entries
Actor and anchor Varshini Sounderajan entered the Bigg Boss house. She said she considered it a very big platform and had not initially thought she would fit into it.
She said she questioned herself about the decision every night before going to bed and eventually decided that she definitely wanted to enter the show.
Rohit, another contestant from Agnipariksha, entered the house. He said the film Annamayya had inspired him greatly and that he would play the game in his own style.
Actor Mukesh Gowda entered as the final contestant. Speaking before entering the house, he said, “Ten years ago, because of certain circumstances in my life, I wanted to become an actor. I started my career as a junior artist and also worked as a hero.”
“I want to show my talent and win people’s hearts. I will fight with 100% energy in every task,” he said.
Mukesh said the Telugu film industry had given him his livelihood and asked viewers to forgive him if he made mistakes while speaking.
