Bhu Bharati replaces Dharani portal: Telangana to roll out new land records portal tomorrow

Hyderabad: Chief minister Revanth Reddy will launch Telangana Bhu Bharati (Record of Rights) portal, which will replace the Dharani portal, on Monday, April 14, 2025.
The chief minister conducted a review meeting with Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and other officials on the Bhu Bharati portal on Saturday.
He said initially the portal will be launched in three mandals to create awareness about the portal among farmers and others. He instructed the officials to run extensive awareness campaigns and explain to people how the portal streamlines the revenue administration from the village level. The Bhu Bharati portal should evolve with citizen feedback, he added.
‘Bhu Bharati’ portal aims to resolve challenges citizens faced with the previous ‘Dharani’ land records management system. Revanth Reddy emphasised that this portal will provide all information on land transactions in simple language to the citizens. He asserted that the portal will be user-friendly and directed the officials to manage the website and app “strictly and efficiently.”
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister V Seshadri, Revenue Secretary Jyothi Buddaprakash, CCLA Secretary M Makarand and other officials were among those who attended the review meeting.
Last December, the government introduced the Telangana Bhu Bharati (Record of Rights) Act, 2024 in the Assembly to rectify the lapses in the Telangana Rights in Land and Pattadar Passbooks Act, 2020 enacted by the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) regime.
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy informed the House that Bhu Bharati (Record of Rights) Act, 2024 will fix several anomalies in the old Act.
He said that the new Act will facilitate the creation and issuance of ‘Bhudhar Cards’, on the lines of ‘Aadhaar Cards’ for all land parcels across the State. It will also protect the ownership rights as well as ensuring access to the land details with a click of a mouse.
