Telangana sets $3 trillion target, woos global investors
HYDERABAD: Telangana offers a conducive environment for investment, with industrial land, skilled manpower, reliable power supply and infrastructure, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said.
Addressing a Meet and Greet programme organised by the Consulate General of India in San Francisco, Bhatti interacted with Telugu diaspora members, industrialists, technology experts and professionals from the Bay Area. He invited them to partner with Telangana in its growth journey.
He said the state government was working to position Telangana as an attractive investment destination and was making land available in industrial corridors and parks for sectors including manufacturing, information technology, life sciences and clean energy.
State pitches skilled workforce and round-the-clock power supply
Bhatti said the government was strengthening the Young India Skills University and other educational and technical institutions to create a workforce equipped to meet the requirements of emerging industries.
Telangana also has the capacity to provide industries with quality power round the clock, he said. The state is making progress in renewable energy alongside conventional power generation, he added.
The government is also implementing a single-window system to speed up clearances for investors and create an industry-friendly ecosystem by reducing delays in approvals, Bhatti said.
Future City expected to attract global companies and investments
Bhatti said the proposed Future City was being developed by integrating advanced technology, infrastructure and sustainable urban planning. The project would play a key role in attracting global companies and investments to Telangana, he said.
The government is focusing on sectors such as information technology, pharmaceuticals, green energy, advanced manufacturing and knowledge-based industries, with the objective of taking Telangana’s economy to the $3 trillion level, Bhatti said.
He urged the Telangana diaspora to partner in the state’s development by investing as well as contributing through technology, innovation and industrial expansion.
Bhatti explores autonomous mobility solutions for Hyderabad
As part of his US tour, Bhatti travelled in a Waymo autonomous vehicle in San Francisco and later met representatives of the company to discuss autonomous vehicle technology.
The discussions covered infrastructure requirements, including high-resolution mapping, sensor-compatible road designs, dedicated testing corridors, data connectivity and artificial intelligence computing infrastructure.
They also covered regulatory and policy frameworks for autonomous vehicle trials and their future expansion. Bhatti explored the possibility of introducing autonomous mobility solutions on a pilot basis in Hyderabad and the proposed Future City.
He expressed interest in examining how next-generation mobility technologies could be integrated into the urban development plans of Hyderabad and Future City, with the aim of positioning Telangana at the forefront of emerging mobility solutions.
