Civic neglect forces Bharat Nagar residents to pass through garbage-filled roads

Bharat Nagar : The civic apathy of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation(GHMC) authorities has made the life of MMTS commuters troublesome. The road leading to the Bharat Nagar Railway station is partly filled with garbage, water and tree debris, restricting the movement of residents. Bharat Nagar, one of the prominent stops in the Secunderabad to Lingampalli, Falaknuma and vice versa MMTS routes.
Bharat Nagar residents call out the authorities of GHMC as they allege that the authorities are not responding despite officially complaining about the issue. The local residents have complained to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation through the My GHMC App with a reference ID 1507244731652, however, the issue remains unresolved.
The tree debris and the sand coupled with leaking water and garbage is making it difficult for the residents to pass through the route. While it seems impossible for any four wheeler to go near the station, residents are forced to stop their vehicles afar and walk through the path. Residents lament that this is further causing delay and are missing their trains and are being late to their respective workplaces and educational institutions. Residents demand that the GHMC takes up action and clear their passage from garbage and debris.
What do officials say?
In connection with this story, the Hyderabad Mail has reached out to both the officials of the GHMC and the South Central Railways, which manages the MMTS network. While the GHMC is yet to respond, the South Central Railways said that their limits are only till the railway station premises and the approach road and its maintenance are the responsibility of the state government.
MMTS is one of the affordable commute options in the city of Hyderabad for thousands of job goers and students. MMTS connects several parts of Hyderabad, however, residents complain of delayed train timings.
