Bharat Future City to Generate 13 Lakh Jobs: Sridhar Babu

HYDERABAD: The Telangana government will develop Bharat Future City as a global investment destination capable of generating 13 lakh jobs, IT and industries minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said at a global summit on Tuesday.
Zero-carbon city with advanced infrastructure
He said the next-generation city, spread across 13,500 acres, would be built as a zero-carbon urban centre comprising six specialised districts dedicated to artificial intelligence, health, entertainment, sports, data centres and international-level higher education.
Housing townships will be developed to accommodate 9 lakh people, with top construction firms expected to participate in the project.
Major facilities and timelines announced
The minister said various research centres, green pharma units, manufacturing clusters and entertainment hubs would anchor the project and create large-scale employment.
He said the Young India Skills University would begin operations in the next one month. Of the total land, about 400 acres have been earmarked exclusively for data centres, and construction activity is expected to commence by the end of February.
The proposed Entertainment District will include international-standard convention centres, adventure zones and star-category hotels. The city will also incorporate futuristic mobility systems and be designed as an architectural landmark.
Urban forests, water conservation and global partnerships
Sridhar Babu said the entire region would feature extensive urban forests. Every drop of rainwater will be harvested through an advanced system ensuring zero runoff and long-term groundwater security.
He noted that Reliance Foundation has partnered with the state government to establish Vantara, a wildlife conservation centre within the city.
The city will also host research and production clusters in life sciences and electric vehicles. He said Bharat Future City reflects the vision of chief minister A Revanth Reddy and is expected to emerge as one of the world’s most celebrated urban centres.
