Telangana: The Telangana government has approved a ₹560 crore master plan to develop the Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple in Bhadrachalam into an international spiritual centre.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy cleared the proposal, which will be implemented in three phases. The project aims to upgrade infrastructure while preserving the temple’s religious and historical significance.

Phase-1 of the project, estimated at ₹350 crore, will be launched on March 27 during the Chief Minister’s visit for Sri Rama Navami. The first phase is scheduled for completion by March 31, 2027.

The development plan focuses on improving facilities for devotees and strengthening key infrastructure, including Pushkar Ghats. These upgrades are being prioritised ahead of the Godavari Pushkaralu scheduled in July 2027.

Agama Shastra norms to guide all construction works

Officials said all development activities will strictly follow Agama Shastra principles to maintain the sanctity of the 17th-century temple.

The project seeks to position Bhadrachalam as a global spiritual destination while addressing long-standing infrastructure gaps around the temple complex.

The government stated that the phased execution will ensure minimal disruption to temple activities while enabling large-scale improvements.
