Hyderabad Ranks Fourth in India’s AI Jobs
HYDERABAD: Artificial intelligence (AI) has become part of daily life, driving rapid changes in the job market across India. Hiring in AI-related roles is accelerating, with more than half of the country’s AI-based jobs concentrated in Bengaluru and Delhi.
Bengaluru, Delhi dominate AI job market
Bengaluru tops the country in AI job creation, followed closely by Delhi-National Capital Region. Mumbai ranks third, while Hyderabad stands fourth. According to a report by CBRE, the three cities together account for nearly 70 per cent of AI-related jobs in India.
The findings are based on an analysis of 64,500 active job postings on Naukri.com.
Hyderabad sees growth in GCC-driven hiring
Bengaluru’s lead is attributed to the high concentration of Global Capability Centres (GCCs). Delhi-National Capital Region is witnessing growth driven by fintech, healthcare and government projects.
Hyderabad has over 350 GCCs, with large-scale recruitment underway for AI-based research roles.
Pune accounts for 9.6 per cent of AI jobs, while other cities together hold an 8.5 per cent share.
The city-wise share of AI jobs is as follows:
Bengaluru: 25.4%
Delhi-NCR: 24.8%
Mumbai: 19.2%
Hyderabad: 12.5%
Pune: 9.6%
Other cities: 8.5%
In the coming years, AI adoption is expected to rise further in marketing, communication and consulting sectors.
Demand is highest in engineering (software and quality assurance), data science and analytics including model training and data analysis and customer success and operations, where AI is used to improve business efficiency and customer services.
