ISL season: India’s leading business group becomes official sponsor of Hyderabad FC

Hyderabad: Weeks after acquiring Hyderabadβs premier football club, Hyderabad FC, the business conglomerate BC Jindal Group on Monday announced that it has become the principal sponsor of the Indian Super League (ISL) team. The club sponsorship will be for the 2024-25 season.
According to the conglomerate’s spokesperson, the Jindal Group aspires to offer Hyderabad FC a great platform to perform well both on and off the field. He said both organizations share a common vision to excel in their respective domains while focusing on teamwork and perseverance.
The players and staff of Hyderabad club were staring at a bleak future due to mounting debts. Several staff members and players had complained about unpaid salaries. Faced with financial turmoil, the football terminated the contracts of at least eight players when they raised the issue of unpaid dues for several months.
The players were not certain if they could participate in the ISL this season. As the ISL’s August 15 deadline to get a sponsor was about to end, the business group proved to be a lifeline for Hyderabad FC and paved the way for its participation in the ISL season.
