BC Commission demands probe after video of scattered caste survey forms goes viral
Hyderabad: A day after a video showing filled-in forms flor the Telangana government’s ambitious Comprehensive Household Caste Survey (SEEPC Survey) went viral on social media, Chairman of the Telangana Commission for Backward Classes has called for a detailed investigation into the matter.
The forms containing residents’ sensitive socio-economic and personal information belonged to Ward No. 27 of Jawahar Nagar Municipal Corporation. The forms lying scattered on Tarnaka road were identified by the staff of HMWS&SB, who immediately informed the Municipal Commissioner of the same, Jawaharnagar Municipal Corporation. All recovered forms are now in safe custody.
As per preliminary inquiries, the forms fell from M Jyothi’s vehicle, who was serving as the supervisor for the survey in the Kapra Mandal area. She has been suspended with immediate effect for dereliction of duty. Additionally, a show-cause notice has been issued to the Municipal Commissioner of Jawahar Nagar Municipal Corporation as it failed to ensure proper monitoring and transport of the survey forms in trunk boxes. The Municipal Commissioner has assured the public that necessary measures are being taken to prevent similar lapses in the future.
