Two women die amid DJ sounds at Nirmal Bathukamma

NIRMAL: Bathukamma celebrations in Nirmal district turned tragic on Saturday night after deafening DJ sounds led to the deaths of two women in separate incidents.
In Nirmal town’s Bangalpet area, Bitlingu Bhagyalakshmi, 56, suddenly collapsed while playing Bathukamma as DJ music blared nearby. Locals rushed her to a private hospital, where doctors declared her dead during treatment.
In another incident in Vanalpadu village under Bhainsa mandal, a 25-year-old woman reportedly fainted during the festivities and collapsed. Villagers tried to revive her but she died before medical help could arrive.
Police said investigations are under way and post-mortem examinations will determine the exact cause of death. Preliminary reports suggested that loud DJ sounds and excitement during the event may have triggered cardiac distress.
Officials appealed to organisers to regulate DJ sound levels during Bathukamma celebrations to prevent such mishaps.
