Basar police arrest three in Mahankali temple theft case

BASAR: The Basar police in Nirmal district have arrested three persons in connection with the theft of a silver crown and hundi cash from the Mahankali temple on the Basara temple premises.
Accused intercepted at railway station
Police said the accused were intercepted at Basara railway station while they were allegedly travelling to Maharashtra following the theft.
Stolen silver crown, cash recovered
Police recovered pieces of the stolen silver crown weighing 1.22 kg, 260 grams of silver anklets, ₹16,000 stolen from the temple hundi and a mobile phone from the accused.
Further investigation is underway.
