Broken car window in Banswada after ₹8 lakh theft near SBI branch

BANSWADA: Unidentified persons smashed a car window and stole ₹8 lakh in Banswada on Tuesday.

Circle Inspector Sridhar said Yada Rao, a resident of Hastal in Bichkunda mandal, had withdrawn ₹8 lakh from the State Bank of India branch in Banswada for a relative’s treatment and personal needs.

Police said the suspects followed his car on a two-wheeler after noticing the cash withdrawal at the bank.

Theft at parking area

Yada Rao parked his car at a parking area on Tadkol Road and went to a nearby shop to buy biscuits. When he returned, he found the car window broken. The bag containing ₹8 lakh was missing.

He immediately alerted the police.

Case registered, probe on

Police examined CCTV footage from the bank and the shop. They identified four persons who allegedly carried out the theft together.

Based on the victim’s complaint, police registered a case and launched an investigation, Sridhar said.
