Hyderabad Task Force busts sex racket at R-Inn Hotel, Banjara Hills

HYDERABAD: The Commissioner’s Task Force (West Zone), in coordination with the Banjara Hills police, busted a sex racket being run from R-Inn Hotel at Road No. 12, Banjara Hills, on Wednesday. Officers apprehended the alleged organiser, identified as Md Shareef, and detained seven customers and a hotel receptionist. Three women, including one from Uzbekistan, were rescued.
Police said the operation was launched following credible information that prostitution was being conducted illegally in Rooms 111 and 112 of the hotel. The accused, Md Shareef (36), a resident of Royal Kunj Apartments, Hyderabad, was formerly associated with a salon business named “Style Maker Saloon.” Investigators said he allegedly hired unemployed women by offering high salaries and commissions under the guise of legitimate employment, later forcing them into prostitution.
Cash, mobiles and condoms seized
The Task Force seized ₹5,950 in cash, 13 mobile phones, and 12 unused condoms during the raid. Officials said the accused and the detained customers were handed over to the Station House Officer, Banjara Hills police station, for further legal action.
The arrests were made under the supervision of M Iqbal Siddiqui, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, and Ch Yadender, Inspector, West Zone Task Force, with assistance from Sub-Inspector D Ravi Raj and other Task Force personnel.
