GHMC ward 122 CC road project stalled a year after inauguration in Bandlaguda Jagir
HYDERABAD: A cement concrete (CC) road project in Bandlaguda Jagir was inaugurated by the local MLA in June last year. Despite the ceremony, not a single brick has been laid. Residents of Amrutha Avenue and Infocity Greenwoods must wade through knee-deep muddy puddles every time it rains. Neither the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) nor the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) has explained the delay.
Meanwhile, the road, opposite the Kalyani Store in a lane off Amrutha Avenue near a military area in GHMC Ward 122, was inaugurated on June 14 last year. A year later, construction has not started. Municipal authorities have ignored repeated complaints.
In addition, resident Vijay Padmanabhan told HyderabadMail that work has not started, despite approval and inauguration. He said residents have followed up with the GHMC office several times and spoken directly with municipal officials. They have received no clarity on when construction will begin.
He added, “The CC road work was approved long ago under GHMC Ward 122. We discussed it with officials. When it rains, the stretch turns into a muddy puddle. It is very difficult to take out our vehicles. Please expedite.” As a result, the incomplete stretch turns into a muddy puddle whenever it rains. Knee-deep water makes it extremely difficult for residents to walk or drive safely.
Furthermore, fellow resident Abhishek Singh has flagged the issue on social media. He tagged the GHMC Commissioner and the Ward 122 Deputy Commissioner. He said the lack of response from municipal authorities is frustrating. He wrote, “The road was inaugurated on June 14th, but no corrective action has been taken by any municipal authority. We approached GHMC, but there has been no response or progress.”
Additionally, the lane ends in a dead end, so residents have no alternate route. With the monsoon underway, the situation will worsen if no action is taken.
Consequently, residents have appealed to the GHMC Commissioner, the Deputy Commissioner for Ward 122, and the MLA to intervene directly. They want the pending CC road work completed before the monsoon deepens and the situation becomes unmanageable. “Residents face significant inconvenience every day. We request authorities to intervene and complete the pending road work immediately,” added Vijay Padmanabhan.
