Bee Attack After Drone Hits Hive During Bandi Sanjay Kumar Padayatra
HYDERABAD: A swarm of honey bees disrupted the “Anjanna Aashirwada Padayatra” led by Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar after a drone struck a beehive during the march on Saturday, March 14.
The incident occurred when Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers reached Konaraopet village in Ramadugu mandal of Rajanna-Sircilla district. Some party workers launched a drone to capture aerial footage of the padayatra.
Drone disturbs beehive
The drone accidentally hit a beehive on a roadside tree, disturbing the bees. The swarm then attacked people nearby, stinging several members of the padayatra.
Four BJP workers reportedly suffered bee sting injuries in the incident.
Padayatra halted briefly
Bandi Sanjay immediately arranged to shift the injured workers to the nearest hospital for treatment, party sources said.
The padayatra was halted briefly following the attack. A doctor also conducted a routine health check-up on the minister.
The 40-km march later resumed and reached the Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy Temple in Mallial mandal of Jagtial district by evening.
