HYDERABAD: Police have cancelled permission for Union Minister Bandi Sanjay’s public meeting scheduled on Thursday at Borabanda.
BJP fumes as police withdraw permission for event
The decision has drawn strong criticism from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership. Party election in-charge Dharma Rao condemned the move, questioning why permission was first granted and then withdrawn.
He alleged that the cancellation was made under pressure from the Congress government. “We will go ahead and hold the meeting at Borabanda this evening,” Dharma Rao said, calling on party workers to gather in large numbers.
He urged the Election Commission to act impartially and said police were responsible for ensuring that the event proceeded without obstruction.
