Hyderabad: Rachakonda police have registered a case against an event organizer after a video of a dance party in Balapur went viral on social media. The video clip allegedly shows transgender performers engaging in obscene dances.

The police official said they had filed a case based on a complaint from the locals. The residents were frustrated over the use of loud music late at night. The dance party was part of an engagement ceremony for Aamir’s son at their residence in Ali Nagar under the limits of Balapur police station limits.

The organizer has been booked under section 292 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) (Whoever commits a public nuisance in any case not otherwise punishable by this Sanhita shall be punished with a fine which may extend to Rs 1000).

Balapur police are investigating whether the organizer obtained permission for the mujra dance at the family function and if any illegal activities were involved.

In September, Balapur police busted a mujra party in the same locality and arrested four transgender performers for obscene dancing.
