Police Clarify Details Of Fatal Balanagar Accident, Reject Allegations Against Traffic Constable

Hyderabad: The Deputy Commissioner of Police of Balanagar Zone, Cyberabad, has dismissed misleading reports circulating in the media and on social media regarding a fatal accident that occurred on April 13, 2025, in Balanagar Police Station limits.

The reports alleged that Traffic Police Constable A. Gopal was intoxicated and had assaulted the deceased motorcyclist, Joshu Babu. However, the police clarified that these claims were false.

According to the police, Joshu Babu was stopped by Constable Gopal for a traffic challan. In an attempt to evade the stop, Joshu Babu collided with another motorcycle and was subsequently struck by an RTC bus, leading to his death.

A breathalyzer and blood test conducted on Constable Gopal revealed no alcohol in his blood. Additionally, video footage of the incident, shared with the family of the deceased, confirmed that there was no assault on Joshu Babu by the constable.

A case has been registered under Section 106(1) of the BNS (Cr.No.191/2025) at Balanagar Police Station. A detailed investigation is ongoing, and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.
